February 6th, 2010 saw NEUI’s 2010 General Work Plan and 2009 Work Summary & Awards Meeting held at Golden Hotel.
The meeting was chaired by the President of NEUI, Mr. Wu Youwei. During the meeting, a summary speech named as Change Viewpoints, Surpass Ourselves, Adapt to the Situation and Strive for Dreams was also given by the consultant of NEUI, Mr. Lv Dingxiong. In his speech, Mr Lv completely & objectively reviewed and summarized what NEUI has done in 2009 from 5 aspects:
1. The market development strategy has been adjusted upon the trend and successfully breakthrough has been made on target projects;
2. New designers have been trained, assisted and guided by key technical staff of the company, accordingly, the production has been promoted to a new level.
3. A complete teaching-technical R&D-Industry Collaboration platform has been built up, with gratifying technical innovation results being achieved;
4. Relevant decisions and policies of the shareholders’ meeting and the session of the Board of Directors have been precisely followed, and the payment system and long-term incentive mechanism have been fully implemented;
5. The work team construction has been strengthened, with notable human resources being reserved and trained. In the speech were also the aspects that need to be improved in the management, the systematic analysis to the opportunities and challenges that NEUI is facing under special global economy circumstances. Further more, Mr. Lv introduced from 6 aspects key issues of 2010: Market Development, Production, Research & Development, Development of Professional Skills, Team Construction and System Construction. He also raised new management objectives - continue to stick to the institutionalized management method and strengthen the enforcement of various management systems. He called on every employee to take the clients’ requirements as his own responsibility, continuously create values for the clients, give full play to the role of ownership, regard active-working as everyone’s own mission, enhance one’s compressive quality and share the joyfulness while assisting others.
The director of the aluminium department of the China Nonferrous Metal Industry Association, Mr. Hu Changping, also gave a speech during the meeting. On behalf of the Association, he conveyed his congratulations to what NEUI had achieved in the year 2009. He expressed, with the support of the Association, as the chief member of the Strategic Alliance on the Innovation of High-efficiency Aluminium Resource Development and Recycling Utilization Technology, as well as the Strategic Alliance on the Innovation of the High-efficiency & Energy-saving Aluminium Reduction Technology, NEUI would lead the technological development of China aluminium industry by increasingly exerting his unique technical and R&D advantages, focusing on resource development, energy-saving and emission reduction, He also hoped that NEUI could explore his potential and contribute to the realization of the emission reduction goal by 40% by 2020, as what had been put by the state Premier Wen Jiabao.
During the meeting, the deputy general manager of China Nonferrous Metal Industry’s Foreign Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd. (“NFC”) and the vice chairman of NEUI, Mr. Qin Junman, pointed out the production capacity designed by NEUI took more than half of the total production capacity of China, and new technologies and equipment have been frequently developed. The successful application of NEUI’s 400kA series aluminium reduction pot technology and the research & development of the 500kA series aluminium reduction pot technology were all up to the world leading level, which have provided strong and powerful technical back-up for NFC to compete for EPC contracts. He believes that, through closely cooperation between NFC and NEUI, both parties were bound to make a breakthrough with their place in the global aluminium market.
Mr. Tu Ganfeng, the general manager and the board chairman of the Northeastern University Science & Technology Industry Co., Ltd, fully affirmed the achievement of NEUI in 2009 and brought forward higher work requirements for 2010. He pointed out that innovation was the life and characteristic of NEUI. He hoped NEUI could strengthen the scientific & technical innovations and Teaching-Technical R&D-Industry Collaboration, maintain the advantages on research & development. He also required NEUI to intensify the management, enabling investors, managers and the employees to grow together and share together.
In the speech were what NEUI achieved in 2009 and existing problems, as well as the work target of 2010.
