NEUI maintains regular and mutual links with such world-class aluminum companies as Alcoa and Alcan, etc.and good technical ties with Hatch, Worley Parsons, etc, and such technical cooperation and R&D platform of Northeastern University enable NEUI’s design reach or exceed global advanced level.

 Focusing on technical innovations & industrialized demonstration applications in aspects of 1）development of key technologies for Chinese bauxite resources and strategy safety, 2) key technologies for efficient use and recycling of alumina resources, 3) key technologies for improving alumina quality, and 4) key technologies for the rational use of overseas bauxite (including regenerative resources), NEUI has, with the cooperation of renowned alumina producers home and abroad, initiated and established a Strategic Alliance on “Technology Innovation for Aluminum Resources Clean Production & Recycling Utilization” under the guidance of the industrial association, so as to tackle such problems as insufficient resources, energy conservation and emission reduction, and to enhance the core competitiveness of the China’s aluminum industry.

As one of the main members of Strategic Alliance on Technology Innovation of High Efficiency & Energy- saving Aluminum Reduction Process, NEUI has carried out long-term and effective cooperation with main disciplines of Northeastern University, TongJi University and Central South University, some professional scientific research institutes and production enterprises both home and abroad. The mode of Teaching - Technical R&D - Industry Collaboration has provided a complete technology development platform for promoting the progress of China’s aluminum industry.
